Uptown on the Hill

Arlin demonstrated his love of history and the Uptown neighborhood this summer by hosting a number of historic, well-attended walking tours of 17th Avenue.

Comparing a particular block-face or intersection through various periods in time, enables one to identify potential historic solutions to contemporary problems, and demonstrate the cyclical nature of history.

Arlin’s summer walking tour series and walking tour guidebooks educated participants about 17th Avenue’s often overlooked history; contributed to place-making efforts on 17th Ave.; and enabled participants to examine debates about Denver’s growth and density through a historic lens.
