Our History

Founded in 1975, Denver Inter Neighborhood Cooperation (INC) was created by a coalition of passionate neighborhood leaders who believed that Denver’s communities are stronger when they stand together. At a time of rapid urban change, these early advocates recognized the need for a citywide platform where neighborhoods could share information, raise concerns, and influence public policy. What began as a grassroots response to local challenges soon evolved into a powerful network of Registered Neighborhood Organizations (RNOs) committed to shaping Denver’s future.

Over the decades, INC has played a vital role in major citywide discussions—ranging from land use and zoning to affordable housing, public safety, and environmental sustainability. Through public forums, advocacy campaigns, and civic education, INC has helped residents become active participants in shaping their communities. As the city continues to grow and diversify, INC remains rooted in its founding belief: that an informed, organized, and united neighborhood voice is essential to a healthy democracy and a vibrant Denver.
