INTER-NEIGHBORHOOD COOPERATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

June 06, 2022 Meeting Called to Order at 6:36 pm

06:36 PM Loretta Kohler called the meeting to order.

Treasurer Report (see attached) — Greg Sorensen

Short Term Rental Advisory Committee

  • Emmett Hobley serves on Cttee and gave Report
  • INC currently has no representative on this committee

Denver Deserves Sidewalks:

  • Delegates will vote on INC’s support for this ballot initiative
  • We must have a month for delegates to decide.
  • Must be a pro and con debate on the matter.
  • Emmett will work on Con position.

Climate And Sustainability Committee —

  • Tree event Grant Park
  • Booth at Washington Park Noon-4p.m.
  • Table Discussion and Symposium on Planning to Thrive: Equity and Integrated Strategies for Colorado’s Future
  • Motion made by Drew Dutcher that INC will pay $ 100.00 for a table of six; seconded by Adam Meltzer
  • Motion carried by vote of Board of Directors present

Parks And Recreation Committee (PARC) – Maggie Price

  • 25 Acres of dedicated parks
  • City council will discuss six parks.
  • Hank Bootz is in hospital and surgery was successful.

Update On Survey- Judy Baxter

  • Long list of questions being pulled together.
  • Must be sent out by July 1, 2022

Discussion On Meeting In-Person in Future

  • The attendance is much higher with zoom.
  • Maybe a Quarterly Meeting in person.

Diversity And Equity- Juston Cooper

Next steps include:

o   Putting together a DEI committee.

o   Codifying values in policy and what work will look like moving forward

o   Composition of the Committee

o   Conversations about interacting with RNO’S, new memberships and recruitment.Policy Driven Approach

Design policy that directs next steps. For example:

  • By Laws- how DEI will be implemented in our approach in relation to RNO’S.
  • Developing Baseline Policy.
  • Quantitative
  • Inclusivity- current practices and procedures.

Recap, Status Update:

  • Recommendation was approved-
  • Design: revise document, operationalize, and Amendments to ?
  • What will the next steps cost?
  • Juston will send his report out next week.

 

July Delegate Meeting — Maggie

  • Trust for Public Lands confirmed speaker
  • Heat Islands focus
  • Elyria Swansea community member
  • Denver Forrester
  • Tree Planting

August Delegate Meeting:

  • Paul Kashmann —  invite to report on RNO Survey findings
  • Pilot Campaign ( RNO Reform)

Membership and recruitment:

  • Should we pay Jane Lorimer to head up recruitment?
  • Greg said he would ask Jane for a proposal.

September and October Delegate Meeting Possibilities – Judy Baxter

  • League of women voters on ballot issues
  • Parry Burnap- Refugee Forum

Minutes Were Approved.

  • Standing Rules  must be kept up to date; draft sent out May 23, 2022
