Ginger White distributed copies of “The Next Stage: The Future of Denver’s Performing Arts Complex” and discussed plans to remodel the present park area along Speer Blvd. The city believes to stay competitive it needs an informal “arts active” park to suit modern taste. The plan calls for the sculptures to be relocated, land reconfigured into a “neighborhood” area with a playground and dog run spaces, and a “festival” area with indoor and outdoor performance spaces, a café, video wall, pavilion, etc. A fresh market and Arts High school, Cycle and Crossfit, Creative Industries, and Commercial Tower are proposed
On the South Platte river trail is Pasquinels landing. It has be redone and is now open for fun and exploration. It is located in the Overland Park neighborhood.
Prairie Park, this park was dedicated on Wed., Oct, 28 at 10:30 a.m., corner of Buchtel Blvd. and S. St. Paul. It celebrates Prairie Park, a 14 acre strip of native grasses and plants along the Historic Buchtel Boulevard.

“We normally would’ve been in the dark here, almost, you know in the middle of the day. It was so shady in here,” said Sonia John, with Friends and Neighbors of Washington Park.
A 2010 report done for Denver Water by landscape consultants found high concentrations of sodium around trees in Denver Parks, which is irrigated with recycled water.
October has been a busy month for us at the INC. What I remember most are two gatherings. One at Prairie Park with the installation of a beautiful kiosk-sign which INC’s own Diana Helper has worked for decades to bring into being. She and John Helper with Eileen Abbattista have sung their way into our hearts with musical fund-raisers. UP’s Betsy Johnson Welty did the beautiful graphic design surrounding Diana’s text. Diana pointed out my photo on the east side of the sign.
In 2014 and 2015 a cap was in place that did not allow new races and walks in Denver. In 2015 the cap was extended to include special events. With the cap expiring for the 2016 season, there was insufficient time to analyze the data and to promulgate new rules, including stakeholder involvement prior to the opening of permits for the 2016 season on November 2nd
