December 16, 2019, DENVER CO –The newly organized Colorado Advocates for Toxin Education (CATE) and Vasquez/I70 Superfund Community Advisory Group (CAG) to host a special presentation by Dr. Bruce Lanphear, “Little Things Matter: The Impact of Toxic Chemicals on Brain Development”

Dr. Lanphear, whose research was instrumental in showing that there is no apparent threshold or safe level of lead exposure, was the primary author of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) policy statement on childhood lead poisoning, “Prevention of Childhood Lead Toxicity.” His talk will include discussion on pesticides, air pollution, lead and other chemicals.

This FREE event is for all providers who work with children and families (physicians, social workers, home visitors, nurses, educators, etc.), and is open to the general public who may have an interest in this topic. Donations are welcomed.

About Dr. Lanphear

Bruce Lanphear, MD, MPH, is a Clinician Scientist at the BC Children’s Research Institute and a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. His research is focused on understanding the impact of toxic chemicals on children’s health, especially from exposures that occur during early brain development. Dr. Lanphear is leading an effort to produce videos to enhance public understanding of how our health is inextricably linked with the environment and to elevate efforts to prevent disease.
